We're in Scottsdale, AZ. Tucson is about 2 hours south of us. I haven't heard of any homeschoolers there, but there might be some.

Let me know if I can help you in any way!

We've been using an online tutor (with whiteboard, voice communication) for the last 8 months for my son. We started it for bar mitzvah extra prep, but liked the rabbi so much he has continued with us post bar mitzvah (chabad/ bar mitzvah lessons online). Our shaliach is looking into it further to see if it's a good fit for us (we daven by Chabad and strongly lean in that direction). Hadas,

My son recently had a bar mitzvah with Sunday night seudah and Monday morning leining at shul. As he wanted so many people for the seudah (150) he agreed to help pay for it with the proceeds of his cash gifts (he got almost ALL cash gifts). He paid over $1,000. himself and felt very much a part of the planning and implementation by doing that. He was also budget conscious as we chose food, music and the photographer (friends). It was a win-win all the way around....simple, but beautiful. I told my kids from an early age what my Rabbi told me: That a Bar/Bas

though some of their friends had exactly that. I like the idea of letting

- make the party in your home

A few months ago, I wrote into the list asking for suggestions on how to
"teach my almost 5 year old what school time means". Since she has never
been in a traditional school setting, I was having trouble getting across
what it meant "to be in school" etc. I asked for your suggestions and help. [...]41_24Dec200722:10:51-0700renaweisman@COX.NET 3445 76 18_Re: ONLINE SCHOOLS6_B Mali18_malikids@GMAIL.COM31_Mon, 24 Dec 2007 22:28:43 -0800564_ISO-8859-1 Russell:

copy-paste only the things that look useful to my student (Calvert provides
PDFs of their manual). For example, I'll introduce her to the concepts of

comfortable in telling people (usually the ones who tell me how brave I
am for hsing), "Children learn more through play at this age, anyway"!
Thanks also!
