comes the joy of the holiday overrides (unfortunately not erases) the
sadness.

My daughter uses the Ariot/Tel Am series in her school. It's a whole
big thing with several levels. It includes posters, workbooks, tapes,
etc. They probably will not sell to indivduals as they are an Ivrit
b'Ivrit program created for Jewish schools. (You can opt in or out of
the religious materials) They are based in Montreal and those interested
in teaching this program must go up there to take a certification
class. The only way I can think of obtaining any materials is by

The Tel am and Tel Sela series is wonderful. It is designed for classroom
use as a comprehensive program. The best way to get it is to find a day
school principal who will order another student set and you pay the school.
This will get you the workbooks and readers. However, you'd probably have to
borrow the Cds. Also, there are a lot of posters, visuals, and extension
materials that you probably wouldn't get. However, the workbooks are readers
are terrific. You can make your own activities and posters.

1st) The simplest solution to the problem of several kids under 5 is to
wait a few years (till they are over 5 :))
2nd) A simple (and effective) solution to juggling kids, laundry,
errands, meals, outside activities, and academics, is NOT to separate
them but COMBINE them. For example if you do errands or send kids to the
store you are automatically creating arithmetic problems (for the change
you get). Similarly when you cook meals you create numerous arithmetic
problems (e.g. how much flour, onions etc are needed for this item for a

I would be weary of using DHA. All the latest reports suggest that even
vitamins dont help raw. Alot of studies show that FOODS CONTAINING
VITAMINS do help ...but VITAMINS by themselves can worsen situations.

I think there is some confusion. DHA is an essential fatty acid necessary
for brain tissue. Perhaps you are referring to DHEA which is a hormone. DHA
is commonly found in fish oils. I know some parents who are using fish oil
supplements. (Usually 1-2 tablespoons daily). I am generally not a big fan
of supplements either however I think fish oil is closer to a food than most
vitamins, etc. I agree that I would not use DHEA and the like. [...]48_30Oct200519:25:35-0500drswift@THERIGHTREMEDY.COM

DHA is found almost exclusively in animal fats especially seafood. Flax is
not a good source.
On soy, my wife is Chinese. We recently asked her parents about their diet
growing up in China and they said they did NOT eat soy with any frequency.
Tofu once or twice per YEAR and little soy milk. Of course, the soy milk

I used to be a chemist, so I did a google search on
"DHA ,chemical, structure, diagram"
and got:
http://www.supplementquality.com/news/fatty_acid_structure.html

The level is undergraduate "first course" chemistry.

I personally find them very interesting. However, since we are going off topic, I will from this point on combine the posts into one 'off topic' digest. If you don't see your message approved as soon after sending as you usually do, this is the reason. [...]44_31Oct200519:38:14-0800avivahwerner@YAHOO.COM
