Gilla, you will be pleased to know that you don't need
a pen pal, as you are fortunate to already have a very
nice group of observant Jewish homeschoolers in Boca
Raton. (I say that with first hand knowledge, as I
spent an afternoon with them while visiting my parents
in Delrey) [...]46_30Apr200323:58:17-0700(PDT)barbmazor@yahoo.com

I just returned from a visit to Israel. Met with many
relatives on my husband's side. Of course there was
lots of interest in hsing.
"Lo osim ba'aretz" - They don't do it in Israel - was
a common response. I said, I know several people
on-line who do do it.
"Zeh lo choki ba'aretz" - It is not legal in Israel.
I said I would enquire. So, Israelis, I know you have
a mandatory education law, but what is the legal
status of hsing? Also, does anyone have an idea how
many hsers are in Israel [...]45_1May200300:03:28-0700(PDT)barbmazor@yahoo.com

all recommended.
I am curious, is your right to homeschool in Israel at
the whim of your local education office? Does it vary
from region to region? Do they have to show cause if
they turn down your request? What follow up do you
have to provide to the local ed. office and do you
have to get an "Ishur" every year? [...]45_4May200317:13:24-0700(PDT)barbmazor@yahoo.com

the State of Israel.
I would like to wish everyone a joyful day. I hope
everyone will take a moment to acknowledge how
fortunate we are to live in a time when there is a
free and independent Jewish State and what its
existence means to the safety and lives of Jews
everywhere. The establishment and continued existence
of Israel is an amazing accomplishment. It is
testament to the strength, dedicatation and faith of
those who have participated in its building and
defense. We are all far better off with it, [...]45_7May200306:48:23-0700(PDT)barbmazor@yahoo.com
