This is a situation that's not immediately relevant to me, but I'd like to get some insight on how an issue is handled at other day schools going through 8th grade (Solomon Schechter, others if applicable). =20

Our local SSDS, which goes through 8th grade, has a policy that students may bring Jewish dates to its dances, but not non-Jewish ones. I am not sure how they enforce or communicate this, but=20 a neighbor's son was invited to a dance by a student, asked at the door if he was Jewish (he is black and non-Jewish), and told when he [...] 172 54 50_[SCJ-PARENTING:7086] Re: SCJ-PARENTING digest 175016_Barry Dov Lerner21_bdlerner1@comcast.net28_Thu, 8 May 2003 17:50:01 EDT402_-

However the school could have very easily gotten around the issue by banning any guests that were not enrolled in that school, or perhaps any other Jewish day-school. At secular proms in the public school [...]
