My apologies. I assumed that all Ramah followed the same rules. To clarify: Ramah in Wisconisn requires 8 weeks except for 1st year (usually going into 6th grade). Don't have official info on attendance areas but a friend of may son's who moved to another region still returns to Ramah WI every year. Oh yes, special needs kids have shorter programs. The first year program is 4 weeks. That is why our kids' first camp experiences are always at Herzl Camp which is also in Wisconsin, "nondenominational Jewish", and offers sessions as hort as one week. All day school parents find out at some point that no matter WHAT their kid liked yesterday, it isn't 'cool' today, so my advice is to stock up on a few different kinds. Most modeling clays stay moist, and are not good for this kind of thing. Play-doh(tm) btw, is made with flour, so it's not a good change. You could get fancy, and get potter's clay, and find a kiln to take it, or you could get that "clay" they sell in toy stores. I used polymer clay (Sculpy) last year. It won't decompose or mold in the rain. We used real leaves, pressed them into a flat sheet of clay to capture veining & cut along outside. Then cooked & decorated.
