We will esentially be having a three day event, because on Friday, there will be a Shabbat service, then the Shabbes service. The whole mishpucha is only coming on Saturday. On the *previous* Monday or Thursday, he would be reading the parsha that he has presumably prepared for Shabbat. If it were the following Monday, the reading would be from the next Shabbat's parsha.
