A few days ago, our chaver Dov, in his inciteful wisdom, posted an op-ed from the Jerusalem Post entitled A Deal in Vain by Evelyn Gordon. Dov was posting this in response to my posting of an op-ed by Gideon Levy (Forgiveness).
In order to further the discussion via op-eds, I am posting a previous piece from Haaretz by Amira Hass. For those interested, I suggest printing both out and holding them side by side. The righteous thing to do is not always the right thing to do. To apologize while we are still building settlements and while our own fanatics on the Gada are still out of control is not going to heal any raw wounds or soothe any raw nerves. Glad to see a voice of reason regarding the environmental damage that will be done by the trans-Israel highway. In general such a highway is a vital neccessity for affording poor people in the "backwoods" settlements the opportunity to commute to places where jobs are available.
Your description of its implementation, however, is depressing. In particular, making it a toll road will almost certainly cause it to work against the interests of the poor unemployed (or under-employed) who would benefit from it most. In line with this ( or maybe not) there was a program on A and E last night entitled "The Search for the Lost Ten Tribes" (produced by a Canadian company---I won't touch that)

The easiest way to copy the information is to address one email to EVERYONE in your address book then cut and paste all the names from the SEND TO box to the body of the letter and send the letter to yourself. Open the letter on the computer you want to transfer the names to and highlight one name at a time and clic on "add address" Good luck Hiam [...]

Open your System Folder. Open Preferences. Open the "America Online" folder (not "AOL link preferences"). There is a file named "Data". This is where all your personal information, storage, old e-mails, etc. are kept. Copy this file to a floppy, zip, jazz, or CDROM. On your other computer, take out the Data file.
